Blending the raw power of Power/Thrash Metal with the intensity of Death and Black Metal, this Athens-based five-piece continues to push the boundaries of metal with their most dynamic release to date. Set for release on December 6th, 2024 via Theogonia Records, “Tides of Time” promises a monumental listening experience filled with soaring melodies, crushing riffs, and powerful lyrical themes.

The album’s lyrical themes explore the rise and fall of cities, heroes, and kings, interweaving forgotten stories lost in time’s unrelenting tide. With an emphasis on grand, epic atmospheres, the album stands as a testament to DESERT NEAR THE END’s evolving sound.

Key highlights of the album include Ruby Bouzioti’s haunting guest vocals on the track “Damnation” and Nik Rock’s acoustic guitar and effects on the emotionally charged “In the North of Every Man’s Heart..“, adding unique textures to the band’s already expansive sound.

Theogonia Records is proud to announce the signing of Greek extreme power/thrash metal warriors, DESERT NEAR THE END, to its ever-growing roster of metal elite. With a legacy rooted in the raw power of 90's Power and Thrash Metal, DESERT NEAR THE END has forged their path over the past decade with a sound that blends the melodic grandeur of Power Metal with the savage intensity of Thrash and Death Metal. Their unique approach has captivated the Hellenic metal scene, and Theogonia Records is proud to release their upcoming sixth studio album, "Tides of Time", on December 6th, 2024!

Formed in Athens in 2010, DESERT NEAR THE END is the product of decades of dedication to metal. Having taken their first steps in the Greek metal scene in the '90s, the band evolved their sound by infusing the epic energy of Power/Thrash Metal with the brutal influences of more extreme genres. The result? A Power/Thrash amalgam, carved with Death/Black tools, as they describe it - a sound that is as aggressive as it is melodic, a perfect balance of force and finesse.

The band’s journey has seen them release five powerful albums to date, each marking a significant evolution in their sound. Their first three albums - A Crimson Dawn (2011), Hunt for the Sun (2014), and Theater of War (2016) - formed an epic thematic trilogy that explored deeper, existential themes. Following that, they unleashed two standalone concept albums: Of Fire and Stars (2019) and The Dawning of the Son (2022), both of which were celebrated for their intricate storytelling and ferocious musicality.

Now, with their sixth album "Tides of Time", DESERT NEAR THE END enters a new era. Embracing the epic aspects of their sound more than ever before, the band has crafted a collection of songs that evoke the grandeur of fallen cities, fallen heroes, kings, and forgotten tales - stories lost in the relentless "Tides of Time". Although not a concept album, this release is bound by its thematic exploration of humanity, destiny, and the forces of history that shape us.
